Preparing for Wales

Almost all the pressies have been bought and packed. Please keep your fingers crossed that my last order will arrive here in time tomorrow. All the sweets have been bought and packed. Clothes are washed and packed or back in the closet.
All my lists have been checked, and checked again. As we don't have to leave tomorrow till in the afternoon I need to keep myself busy. So my list of things to do tomorrow is waiting for me.
Vacuming, mopping, doing my nails, things like that. I need to keep myself busy till 3pm when it's finally time to leave.

My son and I have been waiting for this trip for a very long time.
This is quite what we had planned in the first place. We were supposed to stay with 2 friends. But because one of them changed their mind, we're now only staying with one. This was especially sad for my son. As with the other friend he also had a friend to entertain himself with. Not with the friend we're staying with now. But we both know we'll still have an amazing time.

The first weekend there is gonna be quite an experience. Probably more so for my son then for myself. It's gonna be 5 grown women (including myself) chatting and watching the most amazing man on Earth (besides my son of course ;-) ). That same poor son has to survive between us. Good luck to him. Thank God he's gonna have Saturday night as a 'mans night'.

Neither me or my son have ever spent that long a time in Wales, so we're planning on making the most of it. Going on walks and enjoying the countryside. We're also planning to go and see 1 or 2 films. Being

We've even been preparing by watching 'Batman begins' and 'The dark knight' the other day. Both really good films.
And we both love the Ice Age films as we have them all on DVD.

I've been to Wales once. It was a weekend last October and besides the inside of a house, an ice skating ring and a shop, I didn't see much. Doesn't mean much as I still had one of the best weekends of my life. ;-)

But as we're going 9 days this time, we're bound to see more.
I've been doing some reading on the Mold, Flintshire area and it sounds really nice.

I have no doubt that my son and I will have an amazing time there.
I'll tell you all about it. Maybe not everything as I'm sure that not everything that happens there will be suitable to be blogged about ;-) but you know what I mean. And I promise that I'll also post some pics. But like with the stories, not all pics will be suitable for blogging.
But enough will be left to be shared.

Disneyland Paris

About 6 or 7 years ago I went to Disneyland Paris with work. Besides getting stuck in the Spacemountain ride, I don't remember anything from that trip.

After my son had spotted an ad about kids under 12 going to Disneyland for free and staying at the hotel for free, I was persuaded to book a 3 day trip for the two of us.
So last Monday we got on a 'kidsbus' at 6am. That was fun. It was a double-decker bus but the downstairs was reserved for the kids. So all the grownups could just relax upstairs and watch the 3 Disney films they showed.

We arrived at our Santa Fe hotel around 2pm. After queuing for ages to check-in, and having to go back because our key didn't work, we dumped our stuff in our room and set off to the Disney parks.
Our hotel was simple but good

We were allowed to go in both parks for 3 days.
We started out in de studios. It was amazing! So many amazing things to do. We had 2 fave rides.

Crush's Coaster

Based on the film 'Finding Nemo' this ride takes you 'into the water' and shows you all kinds of amazing stuff.

The other ride we loved was Tower of Terror

You basicly go into a lift and crush down. It's brilliantly scary.

The ride got both my son and myself scared (eventhough it was only in the first few seconds) was Rock n Rollercoaster. That's the only ride that I bought our photo from and this is why:

The Disneyland Park was so amazing! It's such a happy and cheerful place. I loved being there. It felt so good. We did loads of rides. I concurred my fears and joined my son on Spacemountain. Which wasn't so bad as I remembered. I managed to keep my eyes open the entire ride.

Here are some impressions of our trip:

And of course we met some stars!!

Vacation

After weeks of counting down it's finally here.

MY VACATION

Working very hard the entire for this moment (not really, but you know what I mean). Three weeks off. Three weeks of no work. This is what that means:

Three weeks of no crying babies
Three weeks of no diapers
Three weeks of no baby formula
Three weeks of no baby vomit
Three weeks of no sussing crying babies

Really, I love my job. But this is a very nice idea!

I celebrated with going shopping last night after work. I bought new sneakers for my son and for myself: My very first pair of All Stars Converse.

I'm soooo happy with them. More so then I thought I would be. Weird hey?

I'm wearing them now. I'm actually wearing them barefoot. I want to wear my Converse
when we're in Disney so I need to get used to them. Thank God they feel amazing! They're so comfortable.

My son and I are sooooooo excited about going to Disneyland Paris.

I've been there once. Over 6 years ago. My son has never been to Disney. It'll be his first time. We're going on Monday and will be coming back on Wednesday. We're going to have soooooooo much fun!!!!
I've been in touch with a dear friend who knows Disney like her backpocket. She's made sure I made a list of all the rides we just can't miss out on. I even sneakily went on you tube to watch some vids of the rides. But changed my mind. I want them to be a surprise.
We're gonna be meeting and all his friends. Pics will follow ;-)

After Disney my son will have 9 days at home before we leave again.
We're going to Wales.

Our weekend in Wales has been extended to full 10 days. We'll be staying with a special friend of mine. It's about time her and I spend some quality time together. The first weekend a few girls will joining us aswell. It's gonna be a Rob weekend. We're all Rob fans and we'll be drooling over vids, discussing his hair, his clothes, his hands, his face, his....(well, you get the idea) and his friends. As they are very nice too. ;-)
After that weekend my friend is going back to work and my son and I will be exploring Wales. In the evenings we'll have time to spend time with the 3 of us. The Saturday before we go home we'll be going to a themepark. There's 4 of us going. And my son and I are so excited about that themepark.

This Summer vacation will be an amazing one!!!
